Our Commitment
Our mission at SwimWorld is to teach your child to 'Swim, Survive and Enjoy the Water'.
To teach children and adults to be confident in and around water.
Throughout our swimming development program we nurture, encourage and motivate, which gives a sense of achievement and leads to personal growth and a lifetime love of water.
We strive to give you the best possible tuition in swimming and water safety, catering for all water environments.

Pre School Aquatic Development
Our 'Pre School Aquatic Development' program goals include: water safety, swimming confidence, independent movement and continuous progress.
Our program is divided into three important elements:
- Water familiarisation - bubbles, face and body submersion and enjoyment in the water.
- Front and back skills - dog-paddle, torpedo, kicking technique and floating.
- Survival skills - safe entry and exit, treading water and deep water skills.
We aim for each lesson to have a positive feel so your child leaves SwimWorld eager to come back and advance further into their swimming.
Junior Aquatic Development
Our 'Junior Aquatic Development Program' goals include: stroke technique, breathing regulation, endurance and survival skills.
Across all levels of the 'Junior Aquatic Development Program' the children develop substantially in the following areas:
- Freestyle skills extended from 10m (with aid) to 200m (unaided).
- Backstroke skills extended from 25m to 150m.
- Treading water survival skills from 30 seconds to 6 min.
- Breaststroke skills extended to 25m.
- Butterfly is introduced.
- A neat dive.
- Introduction to somersaults.
To ensure consistent improvement, the child is assessed every three weeks on 'Testing Week' by their Instructor and by the Deck Supervisor.
Squad
Our 'Squad Program' focuses on:
- Technique -
At this level children swim for their Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. Swimmers learn and progressively refine technique and develop proficiency in all four competitive strokes, starts and turns as well as improving distance capabilities and speed.
- Speed -
All squad members participate in Sprint Club where swimmers are rewarded for trying to beat their personal best time. They are also invited to participate in the annual Squad Carnival, an exciting introduction to competitive swimming!
- Endurance -
Through the Platinum Certificate program, distance abilities are also improved and developed, gradually from the 1km swim through to 10kms and Open Water Swims. Awards and trophies are presented at special presentation nights twice a year.
- Safety & Survival -
Life-saving skills and survival techniques are also a fundamental component of the squad program. After completing their Bronze and Silver Survival Certificates squad swimmers may complete the Royal Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion. This is a nationally recognised award seen as an international benchmark for life savers.
